The A-side was originally "My Sting Ray" but became overlooked when the B-side "R.P.M." proved more popular and was subsequently promoted as the A-side. My Sting Ray is sometimes called just "Sting Ray". Both songs were recorded on 12 December 1962 at Western Recorders studio. Notable to Beach Boys fans because Dennis Wilson plays drums on both tracks.
